Virtual PC 2004 upgrade to 2007 Add an existing virtual machine

    Hi Friends,

    Virtual PC 2004 on a virtual operating system on my computer. later, Virtual
    PC
    2004 version of the 2007 'I did upgrade to. Virtual PC 2004 version
    the operating system to install, Virtual PC 2007 to try to make import
    I got the following message.

    "Virtual PC was unable to register this virtual machine configuration file.
    The saved state associated with the virtual machine is not compatible with
    the current version of Virtual PC"

    please help me

    It would seem that you should have shut down (not save state) the guest in VPC
    2004 before trying to open it in VPC 2007.

    Maybe you have to reinstall VPC 2004 and do this.

    You didn't shut the VM's down before the upgrade. There's two things
    you can do, one being to uninstall VPC 2007, reinstall VPC 2004, shut
    down all the VM's, then upgrade to VPC 2007 again. The other thing
    you can do if you don't need the saved state of the VM's, is to delete
    the <machine name>.vsv files.
