For some reason, Vista likes to freeze seconds after I plug in my Attache
512MB flash drive by PNY. The hardware successfully installed, but if
accessing the drive, seconds later it locks up ... here's the system stats:

    AMD Athlon X2 64 6000+
    2x Corsair DDR2-800 1GB DDR RAM modules
    MSI K9A Platinum motherboard
    ATI Readon X1650 512MB PCI-E vide card
2x Western Digital WD2000JB 200GB SATA hard disks
2x Western Digital WD800JB 80GB SATA hard disks
    Samsung DVD-+RW
    Antec 450W power supply
Windows Vista Business Edition (Upgrade from fresh Windows XP Professional
install, upgrade done as replacement of XP, not upgrade of XP files)

    Any ideas?

    Justin,

Problems in Windows with flash drives is one of the most common issues.
It's hard to say what is causing the issue you have. There are several
possibilities. To start, check the following site:

    http://www2.pny.com/support/support_landing_cat.aspx?SectionID=1057

If nothing posted there is helpful, post back and perhaps someone here can
come up with another troubleshooting approach.

Perhaps, your PSU is at its limit, and if you add the USB drive...

You already tried various USB slots for the flash drive?
