In BIOS, you have to alter the Boot Order, so that the DVD/CD drive is 1st in
the boot order; insert Vista DVD, reboot, reinstall vista.

Or, use the link above to download and make a bootable CD to solve your
    forgotten password problem!

  4. The windows Vista software comes on a DVD not a CD therefore the DVD cannot
be read in a CD-ROM. If, however, you do have a DVD-ROM then it may be that
the DVD-ROM is not set as the first boot option in the BIOS. Take a look at
    this link from my website:
    http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org/how_do_i_enable_cdrom_support_i.htm The
instructions are to enable a CD-ROM but the same procedure applies to a DVD,
so just substitute any reference to CD in the instructions to DVD.
