Vista login "incorrect username or password" with correct username and password entry

Discussion in 'Windows Vista General Discussion' started by accidentmagnet, Oct 16, 2008.

  1. Windows Vista x6

Have always used automatic login before. Recently added secon
administrator account so login screen now appears. When correct passwor
is entered, the computer says incorrect username or password. This i
true for both accounts. Can not get past the log in screen at all. Ca
    not log into the system

When the password has been used to authenticate administrative task
previously, it has been fine. Don't believe I have ever used the logi
screen before so this issue may have existed before the second accoun
was created and only made apparent by this addition

I have the same problem. I have installed a fresh and genuine copy of Windows
Vista Ultimate x64, do some logon/logout and the system start to refused my
password on every account on my computer, even in safe mode. After a lot of
restarts, the password start working but only for a short time. After some
researches on the Web, I have found that some Toshiba laptop users are
complaining about this problem. I have a Lenovo Thinkvantage T60 computer
with the more recent firmare and BIOS updates installed.
