I have serious and strange problems booting Vista ultimate 64 bit. The
strange part is because sometimes Vista boot correctly and sometimes it
crash at first green progress bar...and after 2 / 3 reset Vista decide
    to start correctly [image:].

    My system is:
    P5WDG2 WS Professional rev 1.03G BIOS 0701
    Qx6700 @ 2.92 (overclokked using Asus profile)
    2 x 1Gb kingstom DDR2 KVR800D2N5K2/2G
Adaptec 44300 SAS controller (lates BIOS)
Fujitsu max3147RC 15K where is install Win Xp Pro And Vista 64 in
    dual boot
    sapphire ATI x1300 512mb
2 x WD500YS in raid 1 over Intel sata controller
1 x Hitachi 7t500 over Intel sata controller
    Skystar 2

    other notes:
1- The marvel sata controller, the on board sound card and the PCIe lan
are disable (I don't need it)
2- To install Vista I disable the Intel Raid controller setting it as
P-ATA emulation (I first unplug the data and elettrical cables of all
sata hard disks, taking the Cpu frequency at default and unplug the
    aerocool panel II card reader).

the problems (that I have also with the cpu at default) seem start when
I enable the Intel Sata Controller some can help me to identify the
    problem / resolve it?

I made a deep (extended) test using the memory test program that can be
found at boot in Vista O.S selection (i'm running Xp pro in dual boot
with Vista). Even if the program say me that there aren't no problem I
note these thinks (I don't know if are usefull):

    memory check start at 19:45
at 19:55 was at 21% (with working CPU
until the 21% then Cpu in almost in IDLE)
at 20:50 was at 22% (with CPU start
    working until the 88%)
    at 21:15 was at 88%
    at 21:24 was at 89%
    at 21:42 was at 90%
    at 21:59 was at 91%
at 22:02 was at 100% (the truth is
that I saw the memory test program quit and go to the boot O.S.

Win Xp Pro as always run fine

Saw it. The occasional error in memtest suggests that the memory is flawed.
If you have multiple sticks installed in the system, I would try it with
just one installed, then the other to see if the problem is isolated to just
    one of them.
