Except the PCMark05 test, the two OS's were remarkedly similar in results.

How many people need a more efficient use of the PCMark05 test?

Now why would I move from XP and spend more money for Vista, when XP will
run games just the same as Vista, if gaming is my main reason for
    choosing an OS?

  3. Gaming is far from the primary use of this computer, but it is a fairly
    high-end graphics workstation.

I just ran my own personal, totally unscientific, test of Vista SP1 versus
    XP SP3 gaming capabilities.

Lord of the Rings Online, Ultra-High graphics, 1680X1050, character standing
    just outside the Prancing Pony.

    Vista (DX 10) - 70 fps
    Vista (DX 9) - 104 fps
    XP (DX 9) - 85 fps

In this one particular case, Vista is clearly superior.

  4. These tests are rubbish...

XP outperforms Vista always.... there is no doubt about it....
