Vista vs AVG Free

    recnetly down loaded Vista. I have a conflict with avg free in which i
    cannot register. Tried to delete AVG but it keeps saying i do not have
    permission. What permission do i need to delete it? i have tried envery thing
    from draging to recycle bin to hardware remove, but its still there.
    HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. It's a known problem with AVG. Re-download the file, go to install it, but
    stop when it gives you the name and key#. Copy that, paste it into a notepad
    file. Restart, and when AVG comes up with the register prompt, you can click
    register and enter in the name & key from the notepad file. That should get
    it registered. Other than that, it seems to be a PITA to get it removed
    correctly.

    Had the same problem when trying to remove AVG professional. Vista may tell
    you it can't be deleted, but the old DOS box isn't that particular...

  4. I recently removed my avg free version and added my avg pro version and had
    no problems with either of them during the install or the uninstall. I am
    running Vista Home Premium with 2gb ram with the aero features disabled.
