    I know there is something wrong with Vista. As many others have mentioned, I
    can see my XP's but they cant utilize Vista. But, I noticed that when I try
    to go to the file sharing setup that the on/off choice is light gray and wont
    allow me to configure. It actually did once and then changed to the light
    gray after a few seconds.
    Any help?

    File sharing "Turn off" feature greyed out

    Many people reported they can't turn off file sharing in Windows Vista. Surely, they are using another firewall other than Windows Firewall.
    So, in order to turn off file sharing do the following:
    1. Turn off your actual firewall;
    2. Turn ON Windows Firewall (Control Panel->Security Center);
    3. Go to Network Sharing Center;
    4. Turn off file sharing (should be not-dimmed now);
    5. Turn off Windows Firewall;
    6. Turn on your preferred firewall.

    IMPORTANT: do not reboot until finish !
