    hello,
for some reason, my guest OS fails to operate in
1600x1200 (it always goes to a lower resolution). is this
the OS's fault, or is VPC emulated graphics card/monitor
    incompaitable with this resolution?

    thanks in advance,
    ravi

  2. In order to use 1600x1200 resolution you will need to install the Virtual
Machine Additions which contains an updated videocard driver.

Virtual PC 2004 emulates an S3 Trio32/64 videocard. The resolution you are
trying to set is not available with standard display drivers.

unfortunately, Virutal PC Additions are not available for
Linux (my guest OS). does vmware have this ability?
