W2K domains upgrade to W2K3 domains

    I have one parent domain and one child domain. Does it matter which domain I
    upgrade to Windows 2003 first?

  2. Well you gotta run ADPREP /Forestprep in the root domain (schema operation
    master). So more or less it's the Root domain that needs to be hit first.

    Mind you this is JUST ADPREP, not actually upgrading to Windows Server 2003.

    Once Forestprep is done you gotta do domainprep in all the domains that need
    to get upgraded too.

    In all honesty, I think I did all three of my Child Domain upgrades to 2003
    before doing the root domain due to the Cognos application which was based
    in the root domain, and the fact it needed to be upgraded to support 2003...
