Judging from the numerous querires available on the web, I'm not the first to
be asking this question. But I've yet to find an answer!

Until last week, I had a fully functioning network with the PDC Emulator
running on a clean built server which was given all the roles of FSMO
following our upgrade from NT 4.0 some months ago.

The PDC Emulator role is not working on the original server and when it is
passed to one of our other servers, it work as expected. Trying to transfer
the role back, initially appear to work, but running 'DCDiag' exposes the
    problem:

    Starting test: FsmoCheck
Warning: DcGetDcName(PDC_REQUIRED) call failed, error 1355
A Primary Domain Controller could not be located.
The server holding the PDC role is down.
    ......................... aeroint.com failed test FsmoCheck

This result is only obtained when the server you believe is the PDC Emulator
    has 'DCDiag' run on it.

I need to know why it happened and how it can be resolved please.
