I am unable to access several webpages where I have previously "remembered" a
    login/password. Where a saved login/password screen
would normally appear - I get a blank screen or a cannot connect message. I
do not get a popup blocked message or anything similar.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling IE7, turning off popup filters,
turning off all add ons, adding to trusted sites, deleting
cookies and then deleting all temp files etc. The problem is recent and
seemed to follow installing the latest release of defender and the usual run
    of xp
updates however even restoring to an earlier point did not overcome the
problem. My feeling is that the saved login/password that would normally
fill in the form is somehow corrupted or is being blocked but I cannot find
where these are and if they are in the registry I am not game to try to
delete them unless I know for sure what I am doing. There has been some media
discussion of spoofed login screens. I am wondering if MS has implemented a
security fix in a recent update that may be catching these logins. The
following link triggers a password screen on my work PC but not the hame
machine where I really want to have access
This is really frustrating, any asistance would be appreciated.

I am pleased to say that I loaded a password washer (internet tracks washer
    8) programme and cleared the login/password for the website and viola it now
asks for this info and works fine. Hopefully the fix will stick. Thanks
again for all helpful ideas provided.
