When our application uses JavaScript to create a pop-up modal dialog window,
there is an address bar with dropdown buttons on the top of the window.

Who needs to change URL in modal pop-up?

Though we may need not to chang URL in pop-up window, in my opinion, we can
know the address of the pop-up by seeing into the address bar. It is useful
when you only want to visit that pop-up window again. Or, we can use some web
page editor programs such as Microsoft Office Front Page to see the HTML code
    of the web page.

What is the purpose of this drop-down box? I doesn't seem to do anything when
you select another address. If anything it is only likely to cause confusion
for the end-user and annoy developers.

Is there any javascript to remove it?

    Thanks

Agree! If the address is for anti-phishing information, it should be shown on
the status bar on the bottom. Or some other less intrusive way.
