What program is blocking pop-ups?

A friend needs to check work email when at home but the site requires use of
pop-ups. She can get to the site, but every time she tries to open or send
an email a message comes up that the pop-up has been blocked, and a count
    shows of 12 pop-ups blocked, 13 pop-ups blocked, 14 pop-ups blocked, etc on
a toolbar. She can't read the emails. She also can't get to another site
to check her pay-voucher for the same reason.

I had her check the settings in Internet Explorer, and pop-ups are not
blocked there in either place. She runs AVG antivirus, Ad-Aware and
Microsoft Antispyware, but doesn't really know what other protection she has
on the machine. She lives out of state - the computer was set up by an old
    boyfriend.

How can she find out what is blocking pop-ups so that she can turn that off
and block them in IE where she can allow those she needs?

    Thanks,
    Mich

  2. You say a number on a toolbar increments each time a pop-up is blocked.
It is that toolbar that is blocking the pop-ups. Have her check the
configuration of her toolbar to either not block pop-ups at all, or to
allow pop-ups on the site that she uses to read her work e-mail.

It sounds like she is using the Google toolbar.
If so, tell here to use the Options in the Google toolbar and change
the Popup Blocker settings or just uncheck Popup Blocker.
