Windows Live Mail (2012 and 2011 QFE3 version) Windows 7

Offline (Default) Contacts mode - all contacts local no MSFT Acct (aka Live ID)
    Path –> C:\Users\<windows username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Contacts\default\15.5\DBStore

Online Contacts Mode - MSFT Acct (Live ID) sign on to Live services in WLM (contacts stored locally and online)
    Path –> C:\Users\<windows username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Contacts\<Live ID>\15.5\DBStore

Note: The DBStore folder is a hidden protected folder thus ensure Show hidden files is enabled and Hide protected files is not
    enabled.

    Here's a picture

    - Windows Live Essentials (Windows Live Mail) contacts location are the same for WLM 2011 QFE3 (example in picture) ***and WLM 2012
    [your version]***

For additional information see my blog article.

The person asking the question 8 months ago wanted to know what *file* they were
stored in on the computer, not how to view them within Windows Live Mail.
