Where to host a domain-based DFS namespace

    I got a decision to take on where to host the root DFS namespace in hhe case
    of a domain-based DFS:

    a. on a DC
    b. on a file server

    Hi Luis,
    Unless you are running Enterprise Edition, you can only run one namespace
    per server. You want to have at least two servers, plus one per site, for
    each namespace, so normally you just run out of servers.
    DC or file server are both fine. If DC, then you will need a domain admin to
    set up the initial share but that may not be a problem depending on
    circumstances. It is just somewhere to put the namespace.
