Why does the same update keep coming back?

    I just re-installed xp on my computer and when I go to do
    the updates, the exact same files keep coming back....I
    think I install the exact same file everytime because all
    of them have the same numbers and everything. Just not
    sure what to do now. Any help would be appreciated
