Why is this forum full of such dumb people?

I just registered here and I'm about to quit and never look back. I have
never seen such ignorant people in my life. I give them help and
suggestions and explanations but in the same thread they keep on
complaining or missing what I posted and not even reading the thread.

Has this forum always been this ridiculous? Is this just a place where
people come to bitch because they're too ignorant to google their
problems or read the posts on here people try to help them with?

Some dudes complain and repeat nonsense that I already explained just
in the post above them. It's almost as if they are blind or something.

What exactly is the deal with this forum? Is this forum here just to
spread negative propaganda about Vista or something? If so, please tell
me so I can stop coming here. I thought this would be a great forum
about 64 bit computing on Vista but instead it's just a cry baby's play
    pen.

  2. Well, any help you give is totally voluntarily. We have to understand most
of the persons who post here seeking help are usually novices and you need
to answer with mind set that they are not going to get it the first time. If
you like to help people, the frustrations, bashings and ignorances should be
like water on a ducks back.

There are a hand full of people on this forum that just want to complain
about how bad Vista and how great Linux is. It doesn't take long to figure
out who these people are. I just filtered them out and now I really enjoy
coming here and reading about just Vista issues. When you come across a nut
case, just add them to your filter. It makes a world of difference.

Too add to the others keep in mind that your messages are being
propagated to different news servers. While you may be able to see
your response others on different servers may not. Also you appear
to be using a web based forum, not really the best way to access these
groups. Set up a newsreader and point it at msnew.microsoft.com. I think
    you'll find it's much easier.

I don't think there is an issue of him accessing the forum, he was wondering
why there are so many dumb/ignorant people. Lots of people come here to
complain and cause problems. Especially the Linux/Ubuntu fanatics. You get
a large slice of life in these forums, just like going to the Mall. You
will see some smart people and some dumb people. Happens everywhere.

If you weed out the garbage, you should be able to get some decent help.
    The rest is entertainment.

    Hi Incogneato,

The "Vista Forums" section is our actual Vistax64.com forum. We have
full control over this section and can weed out the troublemakers very
    easily.

The "Vista Newsgroups" and "Vista technologies" sections are a mirror
of the Microsoft newsgroups. We can only do so much, since these are
opened to the public and not just our members.

The best thing to do is just ignore these people that just want to
complain and not really seeking help. You can also report a post that
you feel is inappropriate, and we will remove it.

Just hang in there. You cannot help those that do not want or listen
to it. It is their loss.

Hope you have a better day,
    Shawn

I hope you will never try and be a teacher
There are alot of different people out there with different abilities.
I joined this forum for 3 reasons.

    A. To help users.
    B. To get help from other users.
    C. To read post to get experiance.

It sounds as if you are quite arrogant towards other people.
You are the weakest link, goodbye.:p

    My two cents,

With regard to providing help, not every one has the same level of skills
and knowledge, and it really takes a great deal of patience, compassion, and
tolerance for being a good helper. In my humble opinion, compassion is the
number one requirement for being a helper. I know that I can't be good one
and I highly respect those who can do the job.

As for complaining, I don't see anything wrong for customers to complain.
As far as I know, the best way for no complaints is to have no customers.
Put a product in the lab for self amusement and don't take customer's money,
    no complaints at all.

In general, it's better to know why they are unhappy than they just walk
away, IMHO, but of course, it may not apply to companies like this one.

Yep and this is one of the worst. My thought was that with a newsreader
at least he could have a killfile and filter some of the noise. I just
didn't express that thought very well:) Plus I just think that the web
based stuff is slow and clunky. I only use the forum format when its the
    only thing available.

when Vista has been out for awhile it will die
down. Anything new brings out everyone.
There is a lot to learn hear. And most people are
    not stupid.

I think what he said is: when Vista has been out for awhile it will die
    down.
I think what he means is: When Vista has been out for awhile the BS will die
    down.

I think what he said is:Anything new brings out everyone.
I think he means is: that when a new product comes out, everyone comes out
    of the woodwork and complains.

I think what he said is: There is a lot to learn hear.
I think he means is: there is a lot to learn here.

I think what he said is: And most people are not stupid.
I think he means is: that most people are not stupid.

Hope that clears it up for you.

I never thought people are stupid, and sorry, if I made you think so.

As whether those "BS" will die down, I don't know and let's wait and see.

Yes *lots* come to complain, but the same 5 or 6 are responsible for the
ongoing name calling and childish stupidity.

The *lots* that come to complain are people venting their frustrations with
    Vista, they dump, then go.

    Hi,

Thanks and I agree with you as well. One can only expect less complaints
and hope those error are preventable, but complaints are inevitable for any
product especially for mass market ones, and in this case, Windows is a mass
    market product.

    Thanks for sharing.

as a suggestion to a new person, take the time to read and see the flow of
    things
before you express your opinion. yeah, there are some childish people
posting their insults and such, ignore them.

What I've seen is that it takes tiime for a response to be posted, in the
meantime, others come across the same question and respond, not seeing your
    response.
and yes there are loads of non technical people asking questions, it's just
the way of people owning computers, loads of want, little of knowledge.

yes I've seen those with chips on their shoulders who take advice as how
dare you to correct me, and or the same attitude towards giving them a heads
up on using correct terminology, ie more memory on my HD, I see that so much
I want to open their eyes, but they just don't get it. or backing up their
    CPU LOL, can't be done.
back up your Hard disk yes.
