We have Windows 2000 Server with Exchange 5.5. They are
both running on the same box. We want to upgrade both the
2000 server and Exchange 5.5 to 2003. Which should we
upgrade first?? The Exchange or the Windows???(they are
both running on the same computer)
    Dan....

  2. Hi Dan,

    Thanks for your posting here.

If you only have one server, you need to upgrade Exchange 5.5 to Exchange
    2000 first.

326234 XADM: White Paper - In-Place Upgrade from Microsoft Exchange 5.5 to
    http://support.microsoft.com/?id=326234

Then upgrade Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003. At last, upgrade Windows 2000
    to Windows Server 2003.

If you have another server, you can install Windows 2003 and Exchange 2003
on that server and move the mailboxes from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003.

If you need further help about Exchange server, you can also submit a new
post in our Exchange news groups to get more specific suggestions:

    microsoft.public.exchange2000.general

    Have a nice day!
