Hi, I've Win 2000 Pro without service packs on a virtual PC created by
    Virtual PC 2004 and I've
    networking problems.

I set the virtual machine networking to Shared Networking but the problem
    still occurs.

In my Win Me virtual PC, I can access the Web but not in 2000 Pro SP4.

What happens is that my PC does not send any byte to the server all the
time. It does that for maybe 5 seconds and stops and recontinue after like
minutes but my PC receives bytes from the server normally.

I did what was written in Microsoft KB article about Shared Networking but
    nothing works.

When I want to ping I receive a message that is like the following: host
unreadable but I'd specified the correct DNS Server.

When I use Firewall Client, I receive TCP/IP layer is not functionning

    I need help.

Tryed by doing the same settings in my 2000 Pro PC as the ones one the host
    whichhas XP but no success.

    Beirut, Lebanon.

  2. Hi there,

I would recommend reviewing all your network settings. Numerous people
have Windows 2000 working in Virtual PC without a problem - so this is
almost guaranteed to be a configuration issue.

i dont know much about 2000 but when i use firewall client and click update
now, i see that the refresh operation was completed successfully.
when i see the connection properties, i see activity used bytes received but
under bytes sent i saw only a few activities after each maybe 10 minutes,
when i use net view, i see that the list of servers for the workgroup may be
unavailible but i configured the pc to be in the same workgroup than the
host. internet access works under win me installed in another virtual pc.
