Several days ago I posted a problem regarding Windows
Media Player 9 running under Windows ME. Despite trying
many very good suggestions & help as posted , I was unable
to get the player to work. As far as I could determine my
machine and WIN ME were performing OK. Adding to the
dilemma a media player named RealOnePlayer(downloaded via
the Internet) worked fine. Today I took the bold step of
reinstalling Windows ME. This is not an elegant solution
    at best.
Media Player 9 is now performing OK. I concluded that
somehow, somewhere along the line, my Windows Registry
became corrupted when I first downloaded Media Player 9.
Can anyone offer another explanation? Thanks for the prior

The reinstall of WinMe will get Windows a little more back in order, and
will also reinstall WMP9 at the same time. Either of those probably fixed
    up whatever was amiss.
