  1. Hello,
I have a Dell PowerEdge 2850 Server with dual Xeon 3.4 and initially 2GB of
RAM, the system is running Windows Server 2003 Enterprise.
Yesterday i upgraded the memory to 4GB (added 2x 1GB DIMMS) i powered the
system on, checked the bios, everyting ok (4096 MB reported)
My problem is that Windows only sees 3GB of RAM!!
I tried already the /3GB /userva=3030 switch in the boot.ini, it didnt help
Why is Windows not seeing the rest of the memory? Do i have to use the /PAE
    switch?
The server is running only Windows Virtual Server 2005.

P.S. memory redundancy is disabled on the PowerEdge server.

    Please help,

    Kind regards,

  3. Problem is solved with the /PAE option in the boot.ini, Windows is now
    reporting the full 4 GB
It's a bit strange, i thougt that the /PAE is only applicable when you have
more that 4 GB of memory!
