    Hi

I am working on a Win2k3 Server with the latest updates. When I leave the
computer for a while the screen saver comes up and when I want to unlock it,
it says the password is incorrect. I logged in under the administrator
    account.

This is impossible. I can unlock (and unfortunately logoff the administrator
account) using another user with administrator permissions and then log in
again with the administrator user. So I know that I know the correct
    password.

Furthermore, this problem happens every single time. There don't appear to
be any strange events in the event logs.

The server is newly installed and doesn't have much in it. It's pretty much
on default settings but server roles were added.

Any idea what is causing this and how to fix it?

    Thx

The answer is obvious, disable the screen saver options.

Well that's one way of doing it. However that makes the server more
    susceptible to physical security abuse.

This seems like a bug to me. Any idea how to resolve the bug rather than
    avoid it?

    Thx

    Hi Tariq

I enabled failure auditing for logon and logon event. I noticed that it
does have security audit failure events

    680 Account logon error 0xc000006A
529 logon failure: reason: unknown user name or bad password

    Does that help at all?
