  1. Is there a risk to movre from mixed mode to native mode.

How should I prepare this upgrade to secure my AD ?

The new terminology for 2003 no longer uses mixed and native, but instead
uses forest and domain functional levels. I know of no risks associated
with the movement from one functonal level to another. Check out the link
below it will guide you on precautinary steps needed before you do this.
There are always risks involved with any change to your system.
