Windows 2003 SP1 hangs during install (during registry backup) onDell PowerEdge SC1420 with W2k3 Web

Discussion in 'Windows Server' started by sacha monachon, Jul 19, 2005.

  1. When I try to install SP1 on my Dell PowerEdge SC1420 with W2k3 Web
Edition it always hangs during the registry backup procedure.

I went through this KB article but didn't find anything appropriate:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822798

Does anyone have the same problem and/or a clue about how to solve this
    issue?

    Thanks,
Sacha Monachon, MCSE Windows Server 2003: Security

    Hi Sacha,
Please update your firmware and drivers on the box especially hardware
drivers and del open manager. It should fix it.
