Windows 98 client computers communicating with a Windows 2003 Serv

Discussion in 'Server Networking' started by Amanda George, Apr 5, 2005.

  1. Are there any known problems of Windows 98 2nd Edition client computers
communicating with an NT domain on a Windows 2003 Server? Will Windows 98
clients have any trouble recognizing a domain setup on a Windows 2003 server?
Are there any links related to these questions on the Microsoft website? I
haven't found any relevant articles thus far. Any help would be greatly
    appreciated.

  3. Doug,

Thanks for the info. In reference to the dsclient.exe article, I do not
plan to switch to Active Directory. We will migrate our Windows NT servers
to Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition but keep the NT domain in tact, not
switch to AD. This 2003 Server OS will be installed on new machines with new
    hardware.

The 2nd article about Win 98 clients authenticating to a 2003 domain was
just what I was looking for!
