    Hi all,

I've run into a symptom and I'd like to find out if others are running into
this as well, and if there's a fix.

I have transferred my messages and my address book from Outlook Express 6
(on my Windows XP desktop) to my new Windows Vista Home Premium system.

First question: When I first run Windows Mail, it takes about 45 seconds for
the program to get past the splash screen and to be ready to work. Is this
    normal?

Second question: Once Windows Mail is up and running, I then do a Create
Mail. The first time I do this, it takes about a full minute for the Create
Mail window to fully open. I notice this is happening only when I've got my
2000 Windows Contacts address book filled. If I delete all those addresses,
the Create Mail window opens up within a few seconds. Again, is this normal
behavior or is there a fix?

I'd appreciate knowing if others run into this symptom and if anything can
be done about it. I'm running Windows Mail on a brand new HP laptop that
    came with Vista already installed.

    Thanks for the help!

    Jason

I have much the same setup - a dual booting system with legacy XP on one
drive, and Vista newly installed with imported mail and address book. Just
timed Mail startup at less than 5 seconds. Create mail is virtually
instant. My address book is quite slim - maybe you need to tidy it up /
    reinstall yours?
