Windows Media Player 11 Can't See my 360

Discussion in 'Windows Media Player' started by Vein of Stars, Oct 31, 2006.

  1. Basically my problem is pretty much what I've detailed above. I've googled,
searched the xbox forums, read tens of knowledgebase articles but nothing.

There appears to be nothing wrong with my setup:

PC - Full windows media player 11
    Router - Linksys BEFSR41
Xbox 360 - connected to the router via a wire

I have Xbox Live and my 360 works perfectly with that - I can play games
online, download stuff etc. etc. The router acknowledges that the 360 exists.
But, despite trying to open the ports recommended by the help file, my
    computer can't see my Xbox.

My 360 can't see my PC either but I expected that as sharing has to be
    enabled in WMP11 first.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem. I can't share media between my Xbox 360 and WMP11,
because when I try to enable media sharing in the media player, there is no
Xbox 360 in the "Share media to" list.

I have my computer, Xbox 360 and modem, all connected to the same ethernet
    switch.

If someone can advise, then please do.

  3. The recent suggestion wa sto go to the X360, and delete the
partnership / library association. Then restart both WMP11 and the
X360, and let them discuss terms of surrender ;-)

If that procedure doesn't work for you, I'll dig out the recent post
from an MS employee a few days ago, which seemed to get the process
    running for several users.

However I don't have a 360 here to test it out myself.

    Cheers - Neil
