I have both a PDA on WM5 and a smartphone on WM2003SE, which is supposed to
only be compatible with Activesync4.X and Activesync3.8 respectively. I
would like to sync both of my devices to a central PC running Outlook 2003 on
    Win XP.

Which activesync should / can I use?

    Thanks!

  2. In order to use the WM5 device, you *must* use AS 4.x. The WM2003SE device
will be supported, at the level of functionality of AS3.8, by AS 4.x, also.
You do lose some capabilities that you would have with the real AS 3.8, but
there's no way around it given that you need to use that WM5 device, too.

Thanks Paul.... I'll try and see.

Do you know how I can find out what functionalities I would lose as opposed
    to the read AS3.8?

    Thanks!

  4. Other than just by reading the messages here, I'm not aware of a list of
changes. You don't get wireless sync via WiFi with desktop PCs and you
don't get backup/restore, at least for WM5 devices (I don't have any earlier
    ones around here).

  5. Do you know how I can find out what functionalities I would lose as
In addition to Paul's reply, you'll also lose some sync provider
features, such as limiting synchronization to selected categories.
