When working in Photo Gallery, I often get an error message that politely
    tells me:
Changes to this picture can't be saved because Photo Gallery has experienced
    a problem.

When I try to figure out why, all that the text tells me is this is rare but
can happen. On my computer it is NOT RARE and I would like to figure out
what is wrong so I can fix it.

I have no problem editing the photos in Photo Gallery; it simply will not
let me save them. They are not read only, and they are not corrupt in any
fashion. I have no problem opening them and editing them in Irfan View as
    well as Photo Shop.

Does anyone know how to fix this error message?

    To solve, do this:

    1. Right-click the COMPUTER icon on the desktop and choose PROPERTIES
    2. Choose ADVANCED SYSTEM SETTINGS
    3. If prompted by UAC to authorize, go ahead and ALLOW
    4. Click ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES....
    5. In the bottom half, under SYSTEM VARIABLES, locate the PATH variable
    and highlight it
    6. Click the EDIT button
    7. Make sure that whatever is there starts with
    %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;
    8. Make sure a semi-colon separates each entry.
    9. CLick OK three times
    10. Restart computer
