I have 2 Windows 2000 Servers, 1 with Exchange 2000. We want to upgrade the
Primary Acitve Directory Doman Controller which does not have Exchange 2000
installed on it to Windows 2003 Server. Do we have to upgrade Exchange 2000
to Exchange 2003 on the other Server or will Exchange 2000 on this Server
work fine with the Windows 2003 Primary Active Directory Server.

Exchange 2000 works fine with Windows 2003 Active Directory. You should be
aware of munged attributes because of the upgrade path (when you schema prep
the 2000 forest, it will cause a problem with the Exchange attributes
already present - known issue). They call them mangled in this article, but
    the result is the same:

  3. Also remember that the RUS won't work if you go to 2003 functional level, as
    it doesn't understand linked-list attributes.
