Windows Update-Administrators Only error message

I had to do a system recovery due to MBlast. When running
Windows Update, I get the error message "Administrators
only-must be logged on as Administrator or a member of the
Administrators Group.
I am already the Administrator
I am not on a LAN
I have already performed Knowledge Base 316524 and it
didn't work. I have also read and tried 241234 and
241783.
Norton was not installed during any of these updates
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, everyone, for the suggestions. I have done 316524
and 711 from tweakxp.com and neither worked.
I should also say I'm using XP Home edition. I'll keep
looking.
