Windows Update Error 0x80072EFF

  1. When I attempt to run Windows Update the application
    fails to download after displaying the recommended
    updates. The Windows Update log file indicates a
    0x80072EFF error as shown below

    The error code 0x80072EFF is *usually* associated with an issue with
    Windows Script. Try downloading and installing a new copy :

    Windows Script 5.6 for Windows 2000 and XP
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...43-7E4B-4622-86EB-95A22B832CAA&displaylang=en

    Temporarily disable your antivirus program prior to installing it.
    Reenable it after the installation is finished.

    Are you running any ad|spy|popup blocking, web "accelerator" software?
