Windows update error 0x80090305

    It all began when i couldn`t see any SSL pages i then tried windows update
    but only got error 0x80090305, then i just happend to check under help->
    about internet explorer and discovered that the line cipher strenght stated
    0-bit and that should be 128-bit.
    soo i have some serius truble here does anyone got any ideas about it i
    have run antivirus software and found nothing even in safe mode just to be
    shore
    pardon for my crappy spelling
    but need help

    What operating system and IE version do you have?

    You could try the steps here:

    If that din't help, and you have WinXP, go to
    http://www.michna.com/kb/WxSP2.htm#Cannot_install_Service_Pack_2

    Look for fixdb.bat under "Error 0x800710D9 Unable to read from
    or write to the database". Download and run it.

    I use Windows xp pro sp2 updated with everything until 2 weeks ago when al
    this crap begun i even have to use firefox to write this
    my explorer version is 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_rtm.040803-2158

    Uninstalling sp2 cured al my problems so back to sp1 for the moment
