Hi all. Hope someone can help me with this error message.\nmy laptop recently got affected by some trojan and I have removed it with a\nfew cleaners.\n1.Symantec Anti-Virus\n2.Windows Defender\n3.Live One Care\n4.A-Squared Free\n5.CCleaner\n6.Spybot, search&destroy.\nThese Programs comes together with the laptop. I never had to do all the\nfull scan but windows explorer couldn't act properly (windows explorer had to\nshut down whenever I open My Computer directory).\nAfter removal, everything is solved and all programs are working. however,\nWindows Update couldnt start because of this error code 80070422.\n\nMy Laptop details: Windows Vista Entreprise, Service pack 1, Processor: AMD\nAthlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor TK-53 1.7 GHz, RAM: 2GB, System Type:\n32-bit Operating System.\n\nthese are the solutions i have tried:\n1.\nRunning Full scan again. No viruses/malware/trojan or whatever thingy was\nfound. Windows is back to normal. After re-boot, windows update works again,\nbut only for a while, after that security center alert me that windows update\nis turned off. (No windows update = no update for defender OMG ><).\n2.\nCheck if BITS is enabled. using command prompt. yes it is.\n3.\n- Check if Windows Module Installer is on Manual (yes it is)\n- Windows Module Installer is running.\n- Windows Update (Using Adminstartive Tools > Services > windows Update\n(properties). I realised that it is Disabled so i click on Automatic, and it\nswitch back to Disabled again. I have done this repeatedly and when the\nstatus is on Automatic (which it should be), Its service status wrote :\nStopped. ok. I click on start, a pop up shows up : "Error 1058: The Service\ncannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled\ndevices associated with it."\n- There were several successful attempts and windows manage to get the\nlastest update. However, the windows update service fails most of the times.\n\nIts basically all the Trustable solution here I can find on the web. There a\nfew websites asking me to dowload this anti-malware or that anti-whatever or\nwhatever... I don't think I should really trust those things...\n\nI hope someone with technical experience can help me out with this. Thank\nyou so much!\n\nThank you Thank you!!
