Windows Update NOT picking up recent (12NOV03) security updates and maybe others

The recent, 12NOV03, security updates issued by Microsoft
DO NOT APPEAR on my Windows Update choices. Possibly
other recent updates may also be missing. Several months
ago I did "update" the update information at the prompting
of Microsoft. Is this normal for this spate of updates?
If I need to administer a fix to get Windows Update
working properly again, please tell me what steps I should
    take.

    Thank you for your help.

Running Windows Millenium, OE, on Pentium III Dell System
with 384 MBytes RAM...last update successfully alerted and
installled by Windows Update mid-October 2003.

Again, thanks for any help or feedback.

When you say you were "prompted" by Microsoft to update,
sounds like possibly you fell victim to a virus that was
being spread via email coming supposedly from Microsoft.
Microsoft, to my knowledge, never notifies anyone of
updates except via the Critical Update Notification (if it
is installed on your PC). You can look in Control Panel,
Add/Remove Programs to see is you have tha installed.

Thanks for the response. When I said I was prompted by
Microsoft to update my Windows Update, it was a message
via the update site MANY months ago that caused me to
revalidate my operating system with respect to Windows
Update, i.e., in Windows Update itself (NOT via email) it
had me go get the new Windows Update download or otherwise
I would not have been able to continute getting the
automatic updates. I have never responded to an update
message sent via email for fear of spurious messages,
etc. All I'm saying about this last set of security
updates is that they do NOT appear now in my Windows
Update when run...the last update I picked up via Windows
Update was one back in mid October (for Windows Me
    systems).

Thanks again...any additional input would be appreciated.
