Windows Update Writing Temporary Files To Mapped Network Drive

Discussion in 'Windows Update' started by Charlie Grosvenor, Oct 21, 2003.

  1. I am using windows update on Windows NT 4 machines and on Windows 2000
machines, on some of the machines windows update is using one of our network
shares on a server for its temporary files and is creating folders on there
with GUIDs as names, and is not removing them after. Has anybody experienced
this problem? If so what is the solution? Is there a registry key that says
where windows update writes temporary files? Is there a problem with having
network drives mapped when using windows update?

    Thank you
