Everytime I try to install the updates that it is telling me i need, i get
the error code 80240016. I tried restarting my computer and even going to the
microsoft website to intall them manually. Nothing is working. It either
tells me that I need to install an update for windows update, which when I
try that it fails as well, or it tells me that windows update is currently
installing other updates and to try again, but it i click on try again,
nothing happens. I can't find anything anywhere on how to fix this, can
    someone help me?

No no one has helped me yet, it's still telling me at the bottom of my
computer that "window's cannot check for updates" it's getting annoying. If I
figure it out i will definately post a response.

I found a solution on the forum somewhere, but can't find the link. Anyway,
all you have to do is type sfc /scannow in the run textbox, then go and
    update windows.

This solved my problem, hopefully it solves yours.
