Can Virtual PC be installed on Windows XP Home Edition as
    the host?

  2. As noted innumerable times in posts on this NG, yes.
However, Microsoft is not promising that future changes
to WinXP Home will not cause problems. Microsoft does
promise that VPC will remain compatible with Pro.

I suggest that you review the differences between Home
and Pro and see if your needs are evolving towards Pro.
Home is an upgrade candidate for Pro so you would not
lose any programs or data by upgrading.

If you use wireless networking, beware of using Home
because you cannot encrypt the data you are broadcasting.

Don't forget the ever-ominous "you could lose all data on the Guest and
Host" warning for using an unsupported OS.

Not that anyone has reported that happening using XP Home as the Host
    in this group.

  4. Right, Scott. Of course I fear that my attitude towards
Home (I refer to it as 'Wintendo') might seep out. :)
