Windows XP Home Edition not supported?

Discussion in 'Virtual PC' started by Help,I'mStuck!, Mar 25, 2009.

  1. I've tried to install Microsoft Virtual PC under XP but at the beginning of
the installation it's telling me that it's not a supported operating system.

I thought that WinXP Home Edition was supported?

It's WindowsXP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3.

I thought that this was a supported OS, is that not actually the case?

Is there some other reason it might not be working?

It's "not supported" in that you will get no support from Microsoft if
things go wrong. Just click through the warnings and install anyway. It
    will work just fine.

Thanks for this pointer to the VPC2007 hotfix!

Seems to be a valuable fix for VPC2007SP1 for a number of reasons
apart from the support side. :)
