    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb404245.aspx has a list of
supported operating systems for the Forefront Client:

    Windows® 2000 Professional with SP4 and Update Rollup 1
Windows 2000 Server with SP4 and Update Rollup 1
Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP4 and Update Rollup 1
Windows 2000 Datacenter Server with SP4 and Update Rollup 1
Windows XP Professional with SP2 or later
Windows XP Home with SP2 or later
Windows®°XP Tablet PC Edition with SP2 or later
Windows Server 2003 with SP1 or later
Windows Server 2008 Standard or Windows Server 2008 Enterprise
Windows Server 2008 Standard Server Core or Windows Server 2008 Enterprise
    Server Core installation
Windows Vista® Business, Enterprise, Home, or Ultimate
Windows Vista Business, Enterprise, Home, or Ultimate with SP1
Servers running Terminal Services are supported as client computers.
x64 (except Itanium) operating system installations are supported for client
    computers.
Windows 2000 Server, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Server 2008 clustered
nodes are supported as client computers.

MCE is notably not listed. Can this omission be verified (I've seen it left
off of supported OS systems for other Microsoft software when it need not be
omitted) or is MCE supported by FCS?

If MCE is not supported, when will it be?

The general rule is...most software that runs on XP will run on MCE 2005.
There do seem to be a few exceptions - the ones I've heard mentioned the
most are all top-end audio editing programs.
