Everytime i use winrar (trillion times a day)

User Account Control reports "an unidentified program wants to access your
    computer"

It's not "unidentified" - I know what it is, i trust it & it's *my*
    computer - not Microsoft's

How do i tell UAC that?

Or is it a Vista fail safe device to only allow the use of Microsoft
    Software?

    UAC isn't that smart.
If the writer of the program doesn't properly re-code it for Vista+UAC,
    you'll see that every time.
Check if there is a newer version of WinRAR
I don't expect to have to rewrite a program every time an OS is
upgraded...but MS must get kickbacks from ther makers of software they break
    with newer releases of Windows.

It doesn't surprise me that some Microsoft money making scheme is behind it
and it's about time monopolies commission started looking at this behavior

I will check if there's later version but there should always be a way to
communicate *your* wishes to *your* own computer

Have you noticed that with Vista, it's called "Computer" instead of "My
Computer"? Ever wonder why? Micro$lut wants to control your computer. If
you're sick of this, check out Ubuntu which is not only free but comes
with access to thousands of programs including an excellent RAR program.
    Get it at http://www.ubuntu.com/

    Enjoy!

  5. Have you ever noticed that Ubuntu is FREE and NOBODY wants it? Ubuntu has
been free for years, yet it has less than ONE PERCENT of the desktop. You
would imagine that a FREE product would be on every desktop but it isn't.
Why? Because it's crap and when people download Ubuntu, try it out, they
    quickly remove it within days.

People would rather pay for Microsoft products than use Open Sores software
for Free. That is a documented FACT.

    Alias is a lost troll.

    A lie.
Copernicus was alone when he said the earth revolved around the sun too.
Your point? As we all know, most OEMs are strong armed by Micro$lut to
preinstall Windows -- or else. Fortunately, unlike XP, one can install
Ubuntu on a "Vista Ready" machine.
No, it's because most people don't know about Ubuntu. That, fortunately,
is changing and leading to a much safer Internet.
No, this is another of your FUD based LIES.
No, I'm in a noble mission to tell the world about Ubuntu and there's
nothing you can do about it, loser.

Now shouldn't you be doing a malware or virus scan or something useful
with your toy operating system besides stalking me with your lies?

  7. You are delusional. Nobody wants Ubuntu. That's a FACT.
Who gives a shit about some guy who said the earth revolved around the sun?

    Alias revolves around a Sheep.

A safer internet would be possible if trolls like you would disappear.

Ha - Some noble mission. You keep posting and I will keep telling people
the truth about that crappy OS Ubuntu. It really is crap.

Now shouldn't you be in the Ubuntu forum, praying with those sorry sacks who
think they have a nice OS? In fact they have SHIT.

That ranks right up there with Vista telling me I don't have "Permission" to
delete a file. I guess I need to call Gates and ask him first.

WinRAR runs just fine on my Vista Home Premium system. Of course, I turned
that miserable UAC off as soon as I figured out how to. That has solved a
multitude of problems, and none of the dire predictions about massive virus
    infections have materialized yet.

10 million users say you're wrong.
    You weren't expected to understand.
    More lies, tsk, tsk.
    You mean you'll keep lying.
No need as they already know about Ubuntu and there are quite a few
Ubuntu experts over there giving help, something that neither you nor
    Frank ever do here.

  10. So how did you mess up your system where you can't delete a file?

If I want to delete a file, I highlight the file, then hit the delete key.
    File gone. No problem.

"its and infected copy"? LOL! Ubuntu has no problems with those types of
infections and comes with a RAR program by default, no need to look
    round the net for one.

  12. There you go agian, just throwing numbers around with no proof. I asked you
for proof and you said, "Google It" You statement is 100% false and you
know it. There is no way to calculate how many retards are using
Linux/Ubuntu or any other crippled distro.

So you admit it. I knew it all along.

What lie? If you wern't here, this would be a much safer place. It's true
you just can't accept it. Tisk, tisk, tisk.

Wrong again. Maybe you should fill your bowl and have another smoke.

Wrong. People install Ubuntu and then realize it's crap. Why do you think
that Ubuntu has less than 1% of the desktop after so many years of being
    FREE? Gotcha there.

People know about Ubuntu. That is why they stay far far away from it.
Ubuntu is junk, Ubuntu will always be junk and Ubuntu will always be for
    geeks.

You can disable the UAC or you can install WINRAR outside the "progra
files" directory and that should fix your problem. (iirc).

    Good Luck

    Well, have you?
    I was being conservative.
Being as the retards use Windows and it's the crippled OS, one cannot
    count what is not there.
No, you don't understand sarcasm but that's expected as well.
No, it isn't. The Net would be safer without Windows in this Unix world.
No, it's one of your FUD based lies.
    A lie.
Due to Micro$lut's monopolistic practices, of course! Fortunately,
    that's changing.
False. I met a woman the other day who thought I was showing her Vista
when I showed her Ubuntu. I even know a person who didn't know what
Windows is. You need to get out more.
    See above.
Translation: This nymshifting poster is too stupid to install and use
Ubuntu properly which is amazing when you consider how easy it is to do.
