This is the second time I've had this "polling" problem. Last time, after
several attempts I managed to upgrade from 8 to 12 but now it's happening
again. What's the latest version? I've already tried uninstalling and
reinstalling a number of times. Annoyingly, there's no mention of the version
when you download the beta. I mean sure, it's a beta, but come on!
    Any clues?

Ditto here on the error message, hope we can figure it out because this
happening every couple months is getting old,,,'course it IS a beta so this
kind of thing should probably be expected...

  3. Are you sure you have the latest version?
What does it say when you go to Help/About...?

No, I am not sure. I have v 8.0.1226 but have no way of knowing if that's
the latest or not - except the error message persists.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still end up with v 8.0.1226
    and the error message .....

    Tank you

about 3 weeks I could not take my mail from Live Desktop with the same
error. Same thing from home or work.

    Now both work fine.

    Tank again...

Great, it worked. I think I was downloading from an old URL that still worked

They're not quite on it with these beta releases ....

  10. Yes, it's really confusing the way MS is continuing to offer
only the old desktop version from some URLs.
