See the "Backing up and restoring licenses" section in the release notes
    here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/readme.aspx

I am stunned that Microsoft have removed the License backup & restore
feature from Windows Media Payer 11. Sure it was buggy, but how about fixing
    the bugs?

Why make it such a miserable user experience when people want to move their
purchased or ripped music to a new or upgraded system? What if they've bought
music from several digital music providers and ripped CDs with the default
copy protection option selected? Also the licence store always broke when you
changed your hard drive, re-imaged a system from a Ghost (or other) backup,
moved your hard drive to another machine. In all these cases, licence backup
and restore was the way to recover.

Please, MS, reconsider. If you want people to buy music online legally,
don't punish them for doing so.
