I have 3 XPPro SP3 computers with WMP11. One of them is missing DRM and
    Indiv version numbers.

What is the best way to fix this?

Hello, I have a Windows XP Home edition and I downloaded Windows Media Player
    11. When I try to play protected content it says Windows Media Player is
installed incorrectly. I have gone to the indivisite website and tried the
upgrade and it says that WMP is installed incorrectly. I have uninstalled
and reinstalled WMP so many times it is ridiculous. I have tried to rollback
using the Microsoft directions and it still will not play them. I have
redownloaded the files to restore the licenses from the library and it still
will not play them. I found all of the hotfixes and installed those and I
still have a problem. Please help.

The "installed incorrectly" error message specifically indicates that the
system itself is corrupt, and that WMP cannot be installed to the system
database properly pretty much no matter what you do.

    You can try running:
    sfc /scannow
to fix this up. If not, you would need to either rebuild the system catalog
store (semi-difficult, but less painful) or reformat and reinstall.
