WMP 9 not reading track length correctly...

Hey! I have WinXP and WMP 9 but it doesn't seem to detect
the correct track length for some [most] of my MP3s - it
detects them as being anything from 2 to 20 seconds in
    length.

It plays the songs and there aren't any performance
problems, nothing out of the ordinary other than the
    really annoying track length problem...

I don't have a Service Pack installed and I very recently
re-installed XP, so there's no chance of it being hidden,
    weird code somewhere. [New drive]

Hope all the info helps - please, any help would be
    welcome!

    Thanks!

How were these Mp3s created? Does mplayer2.exe display the track time
    correctly?

I'm currently listening to "Don't Give Up [original mix]" by "Bryan Adams"
in Windows Media Player 9 Series.
