    WMP was working fine yesterday.

Turned on computer today, opened WMP only to find that there were no music
files in the library. Checked pictures and videos, they are still in the
    library.

Went to add music back in the library and when I open the add media box up I
used to have a list of several folders that were monitored for new media.
None of them are there now.

I reselected a folder to start adding media but nothing happened, reopened
the add media box and again the monitored folder list is empty again. I've
tried selecting folders and none of them will remain on the monitor list. I
just can add new media at all.

Tried playing a music track and it plays fine in media player and then
normal when played it adds to the library, it doesn't do this either.

I have no idea what has caused this, I've even tried to do a system restore
to yesterday but that hasn't affected the problem.

    Thank-you Vincent

That was exactly the problem. Renamed file and problem has been fixed, media
    is adding again.

    Thank-you again
