When i play a file I only have sound but no video. I have deleted WMP 11 and
re-installed it. I works for a day or so then reverts back to sound with no
video. Does anyone know what could be the problem

I have this same issue. it's a .wmv file on XP and I got it from
learn360.com. I've used other videos and not sure why this one won't show
video, but I can hear the sound.

What specific video? What's the URL?

Mine has a .MOV in it, and I also just get the audio, no video. Thank you
    for the help.

MOV is not supported in Windows Media Player 11. If you wanted MOV to work
within Windows Media Player 11, you would need to ensure that the
appropriate MOV codec is installed. Your content provider could tell you
what codec they used, but generally MOV is intended to be played with the
    QuickTime Player.
