WMP is working really strange...

It was working OK when I first install Vista. However, it is progressively
    acting stranger.

First, when I tried to play an mp3 file, nothing will happen. Then when I
checked the Task Manager, wmplayer.exe was running. When I ended the process
and run the mp3 file again, it will work.

Then, it started 2 days ago, even by doing the above, I could only play one
song. The WMP window is totally locked up; none of the controls work; I
cannot even move or close the window; the visual effects (the scroll bar
indicating the progression of the song, and the visualiztion) stop working
after about 1-2 seconds also. It will just finish playing one song and stop.

    Can anyone help?

  2. Hmm... you might want to bug this - I've had no problems with WMP11 so far.

How to bug and different ways of submitting feedback:

My advice: limit use of WMP to video only =)

I use WinAmp for most audio-related tasks, and WMP for video. (Same
installation choices as my XP machine.)

WMP has provided instability with audio files for almost ever -- mostly
because of improper mp3 file tagging (sometimes they're really mp2, encoded
weird, or just corrupt) --> winamp is more flexible with these things.

Thanks a lot for your advice. However, the same thing happens when I tried
to play video with WMP. Now, I'm forced to use WinAmp...at least for now.

I'll send my feedback to MS; see if that is a bug.

    No, but

It stopped responding for me. I went to the taskmgr,
wanted to Close it. Said it was waiting for my input.
Hm? So I hit the enter key and it came back to life.
No dialog was anywhere on the visible screen (only one

Lyrics don't work. Can't add, get a stupid msg about
language type - sometimes. Sometimes it appears to
    work but nothing is added.

    Ditto cover art.

It acts flakey and I've only used it 10 minutes. More
than once it seemed to go off into left field and do
nothing for a minute or so (it may have been waiting for
my input, but no indication was seen).

I'd like to get rid of Urge permanently, forever. I
have zero interest in it. (I'm not going to actually
use it anyway, and this is one reason; that's why wmp10
    is on the bench.)

RTM is when? October? This'll be fun. I just hope
it turns out better than Wm5 did, which frankly isn't
even a finished product, not even now, a year later.
