WMP10 and a Rio Device - which one sucks?

What a POS upgrade WMP10 is. Too bad I can't get WMP9 back!!! At least it
worked. Has anyone had any luck whatsoever getting WMP10 to find their Rio
device? I'd appreciate any info you could share if you had a problem and
    overcame it.

    Here's the info.
    WMP10 - can't roll back - preloaded with 10
Rio S35S - firmware current & drivers current, even formatted the player on
    the box with WMP10 installed.

    Here's the skinny.
    I can't get WMP10 to recognize my S35S. WMP10 will play music but hasn't a
clue the S35S is available. The website shows me a nice little pucture and
tells me it supported but that's about as far as it goes. The p.c. sees the
player just fine and I have no problems using Rio software to transfer to the
device as long as I don't have WMA/DRM files. I had no issues using WMP9 on
a different p.c. with the same device.

So....right now I guess it's a vacuum, both sides sucking equally. Neither
one has any idea how to resolve the issue, and I'm pretty sure Rio's support
team is a room full of monkeys pressing random reply buttons.

Anyone have any help to offer? Thanks for the time.
